Low costs on the Adriatic, with English-taught programmes in a few strong fields.

Scholarship route available Self-funded route available 9–12 months to seek work after graduation

Croatian universities charge moderate fees and host English-taught programmes mainly in business, tourism, maritime studies and some engineering.

Degree recognition runs through ENIC/NARIC Croatia and should be started before the application, not after.

Funding that genuinely exists here

Croatian government scholarships

Bilateral awards for candidates from partner countries.

University fee reductions

Merit-based and limited.

Erasmus+ mobility

For students enrolled at a partner institution.

Documents this country asks for

  • ENIC/NARIC recognition
  • Apostilled transcripts with translation
  • Proof of funds and insurance

Visa and permit

A temporary stay permit for study purposes, applied for after acceptance.

After you graduate

9–12 months to seek work

Graduates may remain to look for work under the EU directive implementation; the period is at least nine months. Croatia joined Schengen in 2023, which simplifies travel afterwards.

What they favour

  • Applicants with maritime, tourism or regional interests
  • Early recognition
  • Language plans for longer stays

Where applications fail

  • Starting recognition after the deadline
  • Assuming wide English-taught availability
  • Late visa appointments
